 What is fieldwork?

Any out-of classroom activity which supports a teaching programme can be regarded as fieldwork (Outdoor activities). In the Fieldwork Knowledge Library, particular emphasis is given to activities where young people have the opportunity to carry out hands-on practical scientific activity out-of-doors. The Fieldwork Knowledge Library also recognises the enormous importance of visits to stimulating places in bringing science alive.
